At a time when wedding planning was frought with pandemic-imposed challenges and obstacles, working with A&G for their Cotswolds celebration truly was one of the shining joys that lit up both my personal and professional life. One of the kindest, warmest, and most thoughtful couples I have had the honour of working with, and become friends with - and an equally special wedding that I will never forget, with 40 wonderful guests. With family heritage in both Scotland and New Zealand, and a passion for meaningful details, this couple had a vision for an intimate, heartfelt gathering that would make all their loved ones feel at home. Almost every element of this gorgeous wedding was personal and filled with meaning - from their bespoke monogram featured on their stationery and ring boxes, an embroidered veil, several gorgeous outfit and shoe changes, the framed photos of the family members no longer with them, the lovingly curated welcome boxes for their guests, personalised cocktails inspired by the couple's favourite flavours, the vegan delicacies both savoury and sweet, scented candles shipped all way from Tennessee, whisky tasting with all groom's favourites, cornhole and s'mores for the evening, and so much more.

With so many restrictions and difficulties to overcome, this couple showed nothing but grace and strength every step of the way - and truly embodied that a wedding ultimately is about FAMILY. It's about legacy. It's about cherishing loved ones - it's about the memories and the people and the moments becoming a part of your identity. It's about honouring past heirlooms and creating new ones, and the scent and sights of being in a room with your best friends by your side. It's about the things that last forever.

As fate would have it, I tested positive for COVID just a few days before their wedding - and I suspect I'll never recover from the heartbreak of not being there to see them get married after so long planning together (and falling in love with them)! But the single most important thing is to know that their day finally came. Against all (and MANY) odds, love was not cancelled. After an incredible planning journey together, I was there in heart, spirit, and mind, while a fantastic team looked after them in person.
