The concept of this photoshoot was inspired by Lewis Carroll's adventures of Alice in Wonderland, and was held in the gardens of Marleybrook House, a 17th century thatched cottage in Kent. We chose the venue for its extensive outdoor space, featuring a fully working vintage funfair, full of the quirky charm and personality that Alice is known for.
We wanted the decor to be colourful, unusual, and wild - like a Mad Hatter's dream. We tell the story through four different styled scenes, including a Down The Rabbit Hole entrance area, a mismatched botanical Mad Hatter Tea Party tablescape, a playful Queen's Croquet Ground funfair celebration, and a Secret Garden dessert area. Alice’s style is youthful and effortless - with a short dress, colourful shoes, and a textured veil. We wanted to create fun nods to the fairy tale, while keeping the styling exciting and inspirational for the modern, unconventional couple that isn't afraid to break the rules.
