This editorial was inspired by the classic tale of Sleeping Beauty - and in particular the enchanting story of Aurora. Just as she grew up in a hidden cottage in the woods, we chose as our location the moss-laden, tranquil hideaways of The Chelsea Physic Gardens of London. We wanted to explore feminine shades of pink and blue, as a playful nod to the fairy's disagreement in the original Disney version, and complement these with a palette of earthy browns, whites, and greens to echo the colors of the botanical garden itself. Each element was chosen to embrace the surroundings and to create a soft, elegant and natural look, with gentle colours and organic shapes. Inspired by Aurora's upbringing in the forest, we used wooden textures alongside visuals of flora and fauna, and romantic details fit for a princess' sleeping enchantment. Her gowns and accessories are delicate, floral, and carefree, just like her. Our bride is graceful and powerful like nature itself, and her surroundings lay still, like a Spring frozen in time.
