This inspirational shoot was born out of a shared passion for expressionist art – the aim was to explore the avant-garde way in which this art movement allowed 20th century visual artists to explore and celebrate subjectivity, emotion, and introspection. Similarly, our modern love story is told through the use of light, colour, and texture, against a backdrop of twinkling city skyscrapers and bright, bold brushstrokes. We chose a penthouse hidden away above the busy streets of central London as our venue, an oasis of quiet for our bride and groom to be mindful and present with one another. We loved including personal touches throughout the styling - like the handpainted canvas as the ceremony backdrop, whose colours were echoed by the bespoke cake, stationery, and veil designs.
