At the heart of it, we wanted to tell the story of a young couple interpreting wedding traditions in their own way. Our bride and groom want the beginning of this new chapter of their lives together to be joyful, genuine, and experiential – with time and space to celebrate one another to the fullest. We wanted to show the heartfelt beauty of an intimate wedding to those couples who feel that an elopement might be the right choice for them, even though it’s not the mainstream way of tying the knot.

For our design concept, we were looking to connect sky and sea, with plenty of meaningful, intentional details that embraced and echoed the natural surroundings of the island. We explored a gentle celestial theme, and we did so with a palette of muted and airy colours like greys, nudes, dusty and deep blues, and shades of white. Our backdrops to the day were the glorious spaces of Canaves, a luxury hotel in the little cosmopolitan gem that is the town of Oia, and its breath-taking views of the Caldera and the Aegean Sea. This venue, belonging to the family of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, features pristine, minimal décor and truly embodies the feeling we wanted to capture: being alone together on top of the world, pampered and relaxed, with infinity on every horizon.
