On the 25th anniversary of Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, we re-imagined the wedding of Jack Skellington and his darling Sally, hailing all the way from Halloween Town - where, of all the ghosts, ghouls, and goblins, these two chose each other. We wanted the styling for this editorial to be a modern and artful echo of the work of Tim Burton, with playful nods to his story and all the fantastical characters within it. We chose a dark and moody colour palette - with shades of black, burgundy, and rich jewel tones - and complemented it with a variety of unusual, surreal shapes. Like a museum of curiosities, our tablescape is experiential and tactile, exploring dried flowers, bone, vellum, perspex, and silk. Designing weddings that are exciting, meaningful, and personal to my couples is at the very heart of what I do, and this was a very special story to tell!
